Three new polyurethane (PU) developments for use in the field of instrument panels will be addressed. The topics include a new weight-reduced filling foam, a new type of PU spray skin and, finally, an innovative direct-coating process. In addition to the requirements and material properties, the weight and emissions reduction of interior components is in particular presented. A wide range of high-quality surfaces is realized by means of process optimizations and also innovative solutions on the material and process side.
