This symposium will focus on recent developments in sheet products for automotive applications. Topics will include the following: alloy design of advanced high-strength steels, including fundamental physical metallurgy and microstructure/property relations; advanced coatings for corrosion protection; specialty products, such as noise-damping materials, laser-welded blanks, preprimed/prepainted products, steels for induction heat treating and hot forming; and applications behavior including formability, weldability and energy absorption aspects.
