Need for minimum level of performance, operational capabilities, certification requirements, etc. for automated vehicles. Legislative requirements and policies will provide clarity on rules of operations. Public agencies and industry partners will need to work together to progress through stages to open road testing and deployment, including planning, programming, funding, demonstrating, and conduction leadership and public outreach. Sharing lessons learned, porting, and scaling proven demos will accelerate their adoption and replication elsewhere. More to come in white paper.
