Isomerization of n-heptane over platinum catalysts supported on Y, BEA, MOR and ZSM-5 zeolites with different SiO_2/Al_2O_3 ratio in a mixture with alumina was studied. A platinum precursor was represented by aqueous solutions of H_2PtCl_6 and [Pt(NH_3)_4]Cl_2. The use of hexachloroplatinic acid was shown to increase selectivity of the reaction. Samples containing Y and BEA zeolites demonstrated the highest selectivity and yields of the target products - di- and trimethyl-substituted heptane isomers.
