In 2017, MAATS Tech supplied and installed the primary cable lay equipment to cable lay vessel NKT Victoria, including 2 off carousels total 11,500te capacity, a 90te horizontal lay system and ancillary deck spread. The detailed design and location of the equipment resulted from early collaboration with the customer at concept phase. The vessel was subsequently awarded 'Ship of the Year 2017' for its advanced functionality, and has attracted positive customer feedback over the numerous installation projects executed since launch in May 2017. The design sought to achieve the most favourable compromise between various factors, including cable bending and tension parameters, vessel storage capability, vessel operability, and deck space for other operations. This resulted in a vessel capability that closely and economically matches the needs of current and future cable lay projects.
