Seasonal Evaluation of WRF Wind Farm Parameterization Scheme Performance in A Large Offshore Wind Farm

Mesoscale modelling has been applied in numerous studies to achieve high levels of accuracy while maintaining an acceptable level of computational resource requirement. However, these advanced methodologies should be met with advanced statistical methods for ensuring validation and verification rigour, and to ensure that the models are appropriately administered to deal with different atmospheric conditions. The present study focus on seasonal variability in model predictive capability, and highlights that advanced statistical metrics are able to generate further insights into model performance, compared to traditional metrics.
