Computer vision has become the digital eye of artificial intelligence. In fact, the development of high definition digital cameras along with the advancements of smart algorithms operating on high performance processors have pushed computer vision and its applications into new dimensions that were not accessible before. The ingathering of these technological revolution tools in the service of human welfare and safety reveals the real weight represented by new technologies, where man can only play a limited role. The maintenance of road pavements and the management of this maintenance was and remains a difficult task, in terms of monitoring and diagnosis of the distresses of roads and the establishment of timetables and priorities for intervention to address them. Moreover, the introduction of digital image processing with wireless sensor networks technology increases the efficiency of analysis-repair service and spreads such added value, so that tasks are accomplished effectively and at closer intervals of time compared to what was done without intervening of these techniques. The last decade has given us an unprecedented technological tools allowing us to segment, understand, measure, quantify, recognize image patterns in a widespread domain of application fields [1]. The new challenge is therefore, the development of new algorithms that take advantage of these tools and exploit the rich technological resources of sensors, artificial intelligence, computer vision, signal processors and wireless sensor networks that represent the building blocks of modern intelligent equipment serving a wide range of fields.
