Scenario and perspective of distributed generation in Brazil

Since the regulation in Brazil, 2012, Distributed Generation has been gaining more and more adherents to the compensation system, net metering, in Brazil and its growth has been exponential. Several factors influence this growth, such as: Tax incentives, more accessible technology, increasingly expensive energy tariffs and low water source reservoirs. The photovoltaic source dominates the Compensation System with 99% of the installations and can be the ideal source to complement the main source of energy generation of the Brazilian electric grid, the hydroelectric power plants. The Distributed Generation has a promising future in Brazil and in just over seven years will have more than 800.000 connections, representing an increase of 3.000%.
