In this paper, a motion-control system with multiple operation procedures is designed to meet the requirements of biologic samples separating operations. The motion control system is designed to control three stepping motors. A micro control unit is adopted as the central controller, and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is adopted to realize most of hardware in the system. With the characteristic of multiple procedures, eight procedures can be stored in the system at most. They can be setup, modified and deleted through PC when system communicates with PC. The procedures are stored in FRAM, which has the characteristic of remaining data when power is off. In separating operation, the motion control system runs according to the procedures parameters selected through keypad by user. The system also has the functions of human computer interactive interface, the separating operations are controlled through keypad, and the running state is shown in LCD.
