摘要

Academic performance ranking is often used as one of the criteria to select a candidate for a certain academic position. The ranking is made by comparing several aspects which in reality is difficult to be ranked. This problem falls into multi criteria decision making (MCDM). Sometimes some complexities are naturally appear, such uncertainty, impreciseness and vagueness in measuring the aspects being compared. In this paper we present a discussion on ranking the performance of academic staffs in an Indonesian University. 10% of high rank academic staffs are chosen and their academic performance is evaluated to obtain the rank through the AHP and TOPSIS methods. The results show that the method is consistent with the direct observation.
