Community Structure of Plant-associated Mangroves at Blanakan Fishpond Area, Subang, West Java

Plant-associated mangroves are plants that have a wide tolerance to the salinity located behind the true mangrove zone. Research about the community structure of plant-associated mangroves in the fishpond area has been done from April-July 2018 in Blanakan Village, Blanakan District, Subang Regency, West Java Province. This study aimed to determine the composition of species and vegetation structure of plant-associated mangroves in Blanakan fish pond area, Subang, West Java. The sampling was carried out using purposive sampling method with belt transect. The data were analyzed quantitatively to obtain Evenness index values and Simpson Dominance index values. The results showed that there were 17 species of plant-associated mangroves from 11 families with Poaceae as the dominant family. Based on the quantitative analysis, the community structure of plant-associated mangroves in Blanakan fish pondarea is relatively similar in each genus.
