Numerous biological therapies are available for managing clinical signs associated with osteoarthritis (OA) with varying evidence supporting clinical benefit. Use of biological therapies is unlikely to provide notable tissue regeneration in cases of advanced OA.If biological therapies are used the goal should be to improve comfort and function. Numerous surgical resurfacing options are available for application in the canine stifle but only total knee replacement (TKR) facilitates resurfacing of the entire joint in dogs with advanced stifle OA.
