The present invention relates to a system and equipment for treating sewage comprising the steps of primary, secondary and tertiary treatment. The primary treatment comprises the bar screen (2), grit chamber (3), Parshall flume (4) and grease trap (5) steps. The secondary treatment comprises the biological treatment step, which occurs in part (A) of the reactor (8). The tertiary treatment comprises the steps of hydro cavitation (13), which occurs in the second part (B) of the reactor (8), followed by settling (15), filtration (16), disinfection (17) and hydraulic mixing (17). The biological sewage treatment system in question contemplates an advanced oxidation system with or without media (MBBR) to accomodate various flows, and is capable of treating sewage with industrial and domestic characteristics in an efficient and low-cost manner.
