ORTHOTICS IN MY ORTHOPEDIC PRACTICE

Prosthetics have been present in society since at least the ancient Egyptians. Prosthetic advancement has seen sporadic rates of improvement since that time. Major improvements were made during the Civil War, World War II, and most recently with the increased numbers of wounded soldiers in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Improvements also mirror advancements in biomedical technologies.
