Preparing the FE model update of a rolling stock car body under servicing conditions based on profile plate equivalence

Structural dynamics analysis of the high-speed train is an important means to improve the vehicle vibration, noise, and comfort level, but there are challenges in vehicle modeling with a certain accuracy as a much elaborate model may lead to waste of time in structural dynamics analysis. This paper details a study carried out based on the substructure modal test and the equivalent finite element model, from the equivalent model of single block extrusion plate, to the equivalent finite element model of the whole car body, then considering the influence of the other equipment and interior. We updated the finite element model of the car body, referred to the modal test results through sensitivity analysis method, and got the correct dynamics model of it. The updated model has an average frequency error of 3.9%, the MAC of four orders are over 70% when compared with the modal test in servicing conditions, which provided a accurate model for dynamic analysis of the whole car body.
