Questioning Techniques Promote the Critical Thinking in Engineering Education Case Study in Microcontroller Course of Electrical Engineering

the aim of this paper were as follows: 1) to create the questioning techniques, 2) to examine the questioning techniques to promote students' critical thinking skills. The research tools involved the use of instructional model, ECCA-Model, and the questions pattern to promote critical thinking skills. A sample was selected from undergraduate student of electrical engineering department. The result found that the questioning techniques performed to students' critical thinking skills as the result showed that the students' answers corresponded to the level of question and student satisfaction are strongly agree. In addition, we found more issues about answering questions with more than one point; students answer those questions not covered and vague. This is an interesting issue further. However, research is still continuing to further breakdown the factors influencing critical thinking and the reliability of the research result.
