Ultra-high strength steel (UHSS) has now been widely used in automobiles to form anti-intrusion components due to its strength, cost advantages and lightweight, leading to energy saving and responding to the emission reduction demand for automotive industry. Steel strength in automobiles is increasingly important, making it the focus of current research. Steel ductility and hydrogen-induced delayed cracking (HLDC) resistance are crucial and therefore need further comprehensive studies. In this paper, based on original research results, the test methods and evaluation standards of HIDC susceptibility were compared and analyzed in detail in order to find an acceptable and universal test and evaluation method, and help with the application of UHSS in the automobile sector.
