License to Pill - What You Need to Know to Keep Your Job and Your Cancer Patients Safe

The field of veterinary oncology is reliant upon administration of established anticancer drugs that are not approved for use in animals, the use of conditionally approved drugs that are still undergoing evaluation, and the participation in clinical trials that include new agents not yet fully evaluated in pets with cancer. For the safety of our patients and clients and the legal and ethical practice of veterinary medicine, it is vitally important to have a working knowledge of the legal and safety issues associated with dispensing and administering anticancer drugs. This session will provide specific examples from veterinary oncology practice and test participants' knowledge of these issues and the ramifications of not appropriately addressing them.
