摘要

Canine osteosarcoma (OSA) is a highly aggressive mesenchymal cancer accounting for 85% of canine bone tumors. OS A commonly arises in the long bones of large breed dogs, and 95% of patients are thought to have micrometastases at diagnosis. Standard ofcare treatment for canine OSA consists of amputation followed by chemotherapy, with median survival times ranging from 207-366 days. Development of metastatic disease limits long-term survival, with 9.7%-28% of patients alive two years from diagnosis. Treatment of macroscopic metastasis is unrewarding and given this, therapy is focused on prevention of metastatic disease.
