We summarize work in progress on the semiclassical limit of gauge theories quantized within thin the framework of Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG). We specify the theoretical framework and introduce Quantum Reduced Loop Gravity (QRLG), discussing its role in recovering the semiclassical limit of LQG. We then insert matter, namely gauge fields, in the analysis of the semiclassical limit of LQG, an derive consequences for observational effects. In this brief presentation, we focus on the case of abelian gauge theories, summarizing partial results so far obtained.
