Application of AdS/CFT Correspondence to Studies on Non-Equilibrium Steady States

The general relativity is not only a theory of gravity but also a useful tool to analyze non-equilibrium physics by virtue of the AdS/CFT correspondence. In the gravity dual of a non-equilibrium steady state, an analogue black hole on a D-brane provides basic characteristics of the non-equilibrium steady state.
