摘要

Alzheimer's disease is currently the most common neurodegenerative disorder, characterised by distinct cognitive and sensory deficits. The underlying pathogenic mechanism, however, remains elusive. How the distinct molecular and morphological changesaffect information processing in neuronal circuits and translate further into cognitive dysfunction is unclear. Resolving the changes in neuronal activity is crucial for understanding the impact of neurodegeneration on brain function and even for possible identification of effective treatments and diagnostic techniques.
