For assembly of wire-supported micro-target which has four different micro-scale parts, a semi-automated assembly process which includes artificial operation, semi-automation control, automatic alignment control and bonding process is proposed. To control microparts alignment automatically, position detection method of two micro-parts is proposed. The method is based on image feature extraction and information fusion of two microscopic vision systems. A tracking method based on prior knowledge of movement is introduced to track micro-part in real-time in assembly process. Visual servo control strategy is designed to align micro-parts automatically in 3-D Cartesian space. The micro-parts are connected by bonding process. Experiment results verified the effectiveness of proposed methods.
