Information strategy challenges in the digital era how enterprise architecture management can support strategic IS planning

The paper is intended to provide a systematic overview of the Enterprise Architecture Management oriented approaches and opportunities in strategic information system planning. EAM is a major facilitator of planning in the IT domain, and it offers many, although recently underutilized opportunities for business and IT alignment and organizational engineering. An EAM based analysing approach is explained as a conceptual experiment to demonstrate the utilization of EA in strategic alignment and planning of IS.
