In order to understand the current status of extracurricular English learning for medical students, this article investigates the status of extracurricular English learning for medical students in several medical colleges in Shandong Province. This study uses an online questionnaire as the main form and starts with learning methods, learning objectives, learning status, and understanding of learning. Investigating and analyzing the extracurricular English learning methods and actual conditions of medical college students. The survey shows that although the contemporary medical students have a strong emphasis on English, they are passive in learning. They lack of subjective interest, have the ability to study independently, lack of the scientific and effective arrangement and have the characteristics of "relative independence". Then, it comes up with the idea of "building an English environment" and so on, which provides the guidance and advice for the students how to conduct effective English learning.
