Addison's disease or hypoadrenocorticism (HOC) is routinely diagnosed in dogs but is an extremely uncommon disorder in cats. The clinical picture is variable, and the diagnosis may be overlooked or confused with other more common conditions, particularly in the early stages. Animals in a full-blown crisis are extremely vulnerable and need prompt and aggressive therapy.
