Humic Acid (HA) as a Natural Organic Matter (NOM) is a major concern in drinking water treatment. In this paper, the effects of photocatalysis process on the hybrid membrane system for HA were successfully investigated by comparison of direct Membrane Filtration (MF) process and hybrid photocatalysis-membrane process. The experimental results showed that the PMR reduced the absorbance value at 254 nm (UV_(254)) of membrane permeate from 0.061 cm~(-1) to 0.054 cm~(-1) which indicated that the photocatalysis process had limited influence on membrane permeate. However, the UV_(254) value of the mixture in PMR could be decreased obviously. Overall the combined results provide evidence that the photocatalysis process could alleviate the membrane fouling.
