We give an overview of recent developments on curvature inequalities for Lagrangian submanifolds of complex space forms. The set of optimal inequalities yields the notion of ideal submanifolds and we discuss classification results and open problems regarding ideal Lagrangian submanifolds in complex space forms, mainly focussing on the flat space C~n.
