Wind noise performance is an important but difficult issue for vehicle' comfort at medium and high speed. As for other noises, EOM must be able to specify, calculate and measure each step of the cascading: Source - Transfers, both solid and air borne For wind noise, the source is composed of pressure on the vehicle' panels. This paper addresses the problem of measuring that source, and especially the most important pressure term on vehicle' panels. First, it recalls the phenomena existing in turbulent flow and consequences for pressure on panels. Then it presents an existing Force Analysis Method (FAT) specific to panels: the Panel Inverse Method (PIM), its pros, cons, limits and improvements. Finally validation test on vehicles in wind tunnel are shown.
