Spinel structure of ZnFe_2O_4 has attracted widespread attention due to its excellent visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity. The composite photocatalyst of ZnFe_2O_4 and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) have been synthesized by a facile one-step hydrothermal strategy. A substantially enhanced photoelectrochemical activities for water splitting compared to pure ZnFe_2O_4 under visible light irradiation were observed. However, as the content of graphene in the composite increased, ZnFe_2O_4 nanoparticles gradually accumulate to cluster particles, which is not good for the improvement of photoelectrochemical activities.
