This study focused on the microscale wind simulation of the complex terrain with the atmospheric stabilities, using Large Eddy Simulation (LES) and the turbulence characteristics were discussed. Many numerical wind simulators had been developed but most of them were focused on the effects of the terrain. Recently the numerical wind simulation with the atmospheric stability is appearing but most of them focused on the offshore wind field. There are a small number of studies of the complex terrain and the atmospheric stability. In this study, the authors applied the atmospheric LES code MSSG, which was developed by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, to discuss the effects of the atmospheric stabilities on the turbulent wind of the complex terrain. The test cases were conducted using the complex terrain in Japan and the two atmospheric stability cases were compared. The results showed the increase of the turbulence and gust in the unstable condition.
