Kinematic analysis of the elite javelin thrower Liu Shiying's final exertion technique

Javelin throwing technique can be divided into four parts: holding of the javelin, run-up, final exertion and balancing of the body after the javelin has been released. Studies have shown that the final exertion is the main stage of the run-up acceleration stage, and that the instrument gets about 70% of its throwing speed at this stage. Thus, the quality of the final exertion action's technique will have has a significant direct impact on the final score. This paper presents a kinematic analysis of Liu Shiying's final exertion technique using Signal TEC-3D software, and makes a comparative analysis of the relevant kinematic parameters with those of other foreign elite athletes'. This can serve as a reference source for making suggestions regarding how Liu Shiying's javelin performance can be improved. This also provides data-based scientific evidence for methods to improve both the training methods and Liu Shiying's javelin throwing technique.
