SCC ($29/tonne CO2) showed a 5% environmental weighing to be ‘suitable' 3. Carbon Tax has a direct and ‘indirect' effect. The former far outweighing the latter. If CT taken as SCC → almost 50% increase in cost of electricity 4. As a developing country (with no formal climate change obligations) it is unlikely that a CT will be enforced. Is it required? 5. Green does not necessarily cost more.
