摘要

Each heavy metal's pollution of the sedimentary column is evaluated by using 108 cm K1 columnar sediment samples of Yalu River estuary watercourse. The potential ecological harm index of the sedimentary column was proposed by a Swedish scholar Hakanson. The results show that it had a great influence on the result by using different background values to evaluate. Pollution level is generally low with choosing pre-industrial world sediment of high evaluation of heavy metal. Average of heavy metals is obviously on the high side to evaluate by China and the DPRK Platform Shale for reference rating. The potential ecological risk degree of the region can better be reflected by using Chinese waters background values and Yalu River estuary background values of heavy metals.
