Hydroform Intensive Body Structure (HIBS)with Advanced and Ultra High Strength Steel - Phase II

摘要

As a follow up to the initial phase of the hydroform intensive body structure (HIBS I), investigation into higher strength material tubes and variable thickness wall tubes were investigated in this study. Also, liberties (one sided welding) in the assembly plant were considered to understand the benefits. This paper covers the design, integration, cost, and weight of these design solutions.
