Two main technologies are available on the market for HCl Acid Regeneration: Fluid Bedand Sprayroasting.Fluid Bed produces pellets 1-2 mm, but is more complex in operation and consumes +30%thermal energy.Sprayroasting produces fine red powder with flexible and stable operation and low energyconsumptionSprayroasting oxide has been the state of art technology especially installed in SE-Asia due tobetter economics and good market for the powder oxide up to now (Ferrites). During the lastyears market saturation for sprayroasted oxide has put pressure on the fine powder resultingin lower prices and difficulties to sell lower qualities.ASTEC Engineering has developped together with VALUTEQ a new process to makevaluable oxide product by producing hard pellets for the reuse in the steel industry instead ofpowder - SINTOX Process.This new application combines only advantages of sprayroasting - (low consumptions andcosts, flexible production) with fluid bed technology (pellets production).The produced hard pellets meet requirements of oxide pellets for steel production and havevery interesting (global) sales price.
