Transmission of droplet aerosol with airborne pathogens is one of major research issues of indoor air quality. The main objectives of the current study were investigated distribution and transmission of viable droplet aerosol generated by point source at indoor environment in an enclosed chamber with air tightness. The Staphylococcus albus, was selected as the surrogate viable organism, widely used as the indoor bacterial indicator. The experimental bacterial concentration of droplet aerosol decreased as the distance far away from the generation source. At the horizontal way, the influence of the ventilation had become negligible on the reduction of bacterial concentration at all sampling points, the viable bacterial concentration decreased dramatically as the distance from generation source increased and far more than 90% of viable bacteria could be reduced after 1.5 m far away from generation point. Also the generation velocity and air change rate were also influenced on dispersion and transmission of the droplet aerosol.
