Relatively little research into developing and validating enhanced enrichment methods. Need to transparently establish lower limits of detection for various rapid methods. While not discussed, concentration strategies potentially suffer from many of the same limitations. Need to be aware of the potential impact of food components that can alter or interfere with both detection methods and enrichment/concentration strategies.
