Computational Analysis of Nanofluids in Heat Exchanger

摘要

In this paper the performance of a shell and tube heat exchanger has been studied by CFD. The shell and tube sides have been filled either with water, nanofluid and sea water. The nanofluids have been assumed single-phase with a variant of volume fraction of copper and alumina. The computational result of water at the shell and tube sides has been used as validation of data compared with the technical performance specification given by the supplier. Further, the optimum volume fraction of nanofluids is discussed.
