Tin dioxide is one of the most promising anode materials for the next generation rechargeable Li-ion batteries owing to its high theoretical capacity (782 mAh g~(-1)). The flower-like SnO_2 clusters were successfully prepared via a facile one-step hydrothermal method using sodium stannate as a Sn source without any additional templates. This unique structure exhibits a high reversible capacity of 607 mAh g~(-1) at 100 mA g~(-1) after 30 cycles.
