A Lacanian Interpretation of Beloved's Subjectivity

摘要

This paper aims to interpret Toni Morrison's novel Beloved and examine the subjectivity of the controversial character Beloved in the framework of Lacanian subject theory, revealing her subjectivity is not shaped by Morrison in Cartesian paradigm and she is actually mirroring the unconscious of Seethe, Denver, the black community and the whole suffering history of the black people.
