Power module configulation which is suitable for high power density inverter was studied. 6 in 1, 2 in 1 and 1 in 1 power module constitution was compared in terms of inverter layout flexibility and power stage performance, and 2 in 1 constitution was shown to be the most appropriate constitution for high power density inverter. Double side direct cooling power module in 2 in 1 constitution was shown to be suitable solution for high power density inverter. Example of inverters which is applying 2 in 1 double side direct cooling power modules was also shown.
