1. The procedure to calibrate the CFD spray modeling parameters with measurements of the injector spray characteristics was reported. 2. The SCR system simulations were performed using both calibrated and baseline spray modeling parameters to predict the flow distribution, the ammonia formation as well as the wall film accumulation in the SCR system. 3. The simulation results indicated that the droplet sizes play an important role on the interaction of urea droplets with the exhaust gas flow for the ammonia formation as well as the wall film accumulation. 4. It also showed that without the calibration work, the SCR system simulation results of the generated ammonia and the wall film accumulation arose from the urea injection spray process might not be truly representing the test injector.
