摘要

Recently, it is worried that particulate matter (PM) makes adverse effects for human health like respiratory diseases and cardiovascular diseases. Especially in Kyushu area, Japan, those harmful effects are caused by not only PMs from inside of Japan, but also yellow sand or PM2.5 from Asian continent. There were many studies observing mass concentrations of PMs for understanding the characteristics of transported particles. But, it was not sufficient from the point of view of understanding their effects for human health. In this study, we have continuously observed the mass concentration of PMs and their chemical composition at Kumamoto city in Kyushu area. We have analyzed the characteristics of transported PMs and yellow sand, and their effects for human health.
