Recently,there have been growing interests in the release of nano-materials used in various products to the surrounding environment. In toner powders for laser printers,nano-materials such as titania and silica are also employed as additive particles to control the flowability and electrostatic charge of toner powders. Therefore a new evaluation method for release of nano-sized particles form the toner powders need to be developed even though there have had no reports on the release of these particles from them to the surrounding indoor environment. In the present study,we attempted to develop the evaluation method for release of additive-derived particles using a rotating drum by elucidating the factors that have an influence on the particle release characteristics.
