Modern batteries currently face barriers of insufficient energy and power density, and relatively high cost and poor cycle life performance, which limits their usage in everyday life.In this work, a series of novel green electrode manufacturing technologies are developed by functionalizing sustainable natural polymers for high performance and long life lithium ion batteries, sodium ion batteries, supercapacitors and their hybrids.Our proposed technologies will significantly improve the performance and stability of energy storage devices with dramatically reduced production and environmental costs.
