Elementary systems design for urban production and through life engineering services

摘要

The use of elementary production technologies allows to shift the knowledge and the effort of the design of manufacturing processes from the producers and towards the system manufacturers. Therefore, it enables urban producers that do not have complex process knowledge to implement robust and versatile process chains. This facilitates the utilization of elementary production technologies in local networks as enablers to produce components locally and to cover a large part of local needs, thereby incorporating not only technical, but also ecological, logistical and social aspects as for example sustainability, circular economy and participation. The following paper presents the concept of the elementarisation of production systems to create robust, controllable and combinable processes for urban production and through life engineering services.
