Anodic polarization of metal surfaces in alkaline solutions used for obtaining oxide nanolayers with certain functional properties. To control the process of obtaining nanofilms apply a variety of physical, physicochemical and electrochemical methods. A special place among those methods takes Local Electrochemical Analysis (LEA), allowing localizing electrochemical process at any given point on the surface. The possibilities of local electrochemical analysis in the study of the kinetics of growth of oxide layers on metals is considered. It has been established that the local electrochemical analysis can be successfully used for studying kinetics growth оof oxide layers on metals and alloys at anodic polarization in the corresponding electrolyte. Theoretical analytical expressions describing the kinetics of growth of the oxide layers are supported by experimental studies of anodic polarization of Pb in alkaline solution.
