This paper mainly studies single arc ball screw. Firstly we study the factors that affect ball screw pair's precision, then we place an emphasis on the influence that wear has on the precision of the ball screw pair. Based on the theory of the Archard wear model, we study the stress on the contact surfaces of the ball screw-lead motion pair and the relative movement between the lead screw and the nuts on the contact surfaces. A new wear model for ball screw's precision is built after the study. The numerical relationship between the change of the precision and the attrition quantity of the lead screw is acquired. Under the assumption that the attrition quantity of the ball screw-lead motion pair is uniform, we build a precision loss model of the ball screw pair. The model is reasonable because the result of the numerical simulation and the experimental data matches well. This model provides a method to estimate the precision loss with constant wear, and it can save a lot of time and cost in the accelerated test.
