In this paper, a new method for predicting the radiation pattern of Variable Inclination Continuous Transverse Stub (VI-CTS) array antenna is proposed. The method is based on the model of magnetic current line-source array, which is an approximate model equivalent to the radiation aperture of the Variable Inclination Continuous Transverse Stub array antenna. Using this method, a practical VI-CTS array with performance of beam scanning is analyzed. The result of the proposed method is in well agreement with that of the full-wave method, and is more accurate than that of the spatial harmonic method. In addition, the proposed method does not need so much computational time and resource compared to the full-wave method.
